CACAO CEREMONY

A cacao ceremony is a spiritual ritual. By drinking a ceremonial-grade cacao (chocolate) to assist in opening the heart, connect with one's inner self, and facilitate healing. Cacao is considered a sacred plant with powerful spiritual properties.

The ceremony typically unfolds as follows:

1.     Setting Intentions: Before the ceremony begins, you may wish to take a moment to set a personal intention or prayer. This could be focused on emotional healing, seeking clarity, or simply connecting with a deeper sense of consciousness.

2.     Preparing the Cacao: We begin by mindfully preparing the ceremonial cacao, combining it with water and, sometimes, spices like cinnamon and honey. This raw, unrefined cacao preserves the plant's medicinal properties and enhances the overall experience.

3.     Drinking the Cacao: The cacao is consumed with a moment of gratitude in a group or individually setting. The cacao is believed to help promote feelings of love and connection.

4.     Meditation and Music: Following the cacao portion of the ceremony, sound healing practices such as drumming or singing may be incorporated to enhance and integrate the effects of the cacao.

5.     Integration: The effects of cacao are often subtle and vary from person to person. However, feelings of deep connection, clarity, or emotional release are commonly reported. To further process the experience, some ceremonies may include journaling or group sharing.
